Applications are now invited for the 2011 George Osborne Memorial Speakers Forum for presentations at the ACV Launceston conference 13-16 April 2011. Intending applicants should provide a CV, together with an abstract for their intended presentation to Anne Cover at the ACV office as soon as possible.
The up to 4 presentations (20 minutes each plus 5-10 mins of questions) are intended to encourage an ACV strategic objective of encouraging younger ACV members) to develop a career path in Australian cattle practice. Applications receive financial assistance by way of registration and accommodation to attend the Launceston conference and are required to prepare a written paper, presentation and powerpoint which they will present as part of the conference program. The winner will receive a trophy as well as have their name inscribed on the perpetual trophy.

ACV undergraduate student members due to graduate from an Australian university in 2010 are invited to apply for the 2010 ACV Bovine Champions Award sponsored by Norbrook Laboratories.
4 winners will be selected from the applications received by the due date from eligible graduating students of an Australian university.
This award focuses on applicant’s desire & potential capability for a career in cattle practice and while an academic transcript is requested as part of the application, the emphasis of this award is not academic achievement
Applicants must be current ACV student members. Upon receipt of the applications, membership currency will be checked by the ACV office (as per AVA current member database). Applications from non ACV student members will not be eligible to be judged. Winners also need to be current 2011 ACV members (by1 April 2011)
The award will assist the winners to attend the 2010 conference and is not transferable (by the winner) either to another person or year. The award is not convertible to cash, nor other benefit. If a winner for any reason does not take the awarded prize in 2011, they forfeit the prize and ACV and the sponsor company reserve the right to award the prize to another eligible applicant.
